Shideh Shafie is here today to discuss Learning to Love Your Life as You Are. How can we better concentrate on the "now" when we're always looking ahead to the next thing we're reaching for? Do we know what we actually want (rather than what we should want)? What feels soothing or restorative to us? Dr. Shafie talks to us about skills and ways to live in the present and not focus on the "arrival fallacy." We can actually change our patterns and our brains!

Dr. Shideh Shafie is an assistant professor of Emergency Medicine at Brown University's Warren Alpert School of Medicine and director of the BAEMA ultrasound fellowship. She also runs her own performance coaching practice, where her expertise in emergency medicine and operations give her unique perspective to help busy professionals build lives that allow them to thrive in both their professional and personal spheres. She also serves on the boards of the Rhode Island Economic Progress Institute and the Providence Preservation Society, and is the consulting physician for the Gordon School. When not working you can find her hiking, throwing around kettlebells, or enjoying all the mischief involved with raising her five-year-old twins and a pandemic puppy. She can be found on her website at https://www.shidehshafie.com and on Instagram @shideh.shafie. Dr. Shafie is offering our CYH listeners a free coaching session!
