Dr. Pat Dougherty is a Naval Aerospace and Operational physiologist, with a PHD in physiology and additional training in kinesiology and exercise science. He is also an all american and championship triathlete, and the backbone of Wholist Health's 12 week program with exercise physiology and high level training tips.
Today, Pat joins us for the seventh episode in his series to discuss stress response to exercise and the adaptation of this stress response over time. Regular exercise is like a physiological practice for real stress; the more sedentary we get, the less efficient our bodies in responding to stress. We break down cortisol spikes that vary with exercise frequency and intensity, and how workouts force the body's physiological systems to communicate more closely than usual.
